No Damn Luck
Music, Lyrics and Performance by Dean Temple
I woke up this morning
Cause the telephone was ringing I got no damn luck today
And that fax machine kept calling
For at least another hour I got no damn luck today
As I poured myself some breakfast
Watched the milk come out in chunks I got no damn luck today
There’s no towel in the shower
So I used the toilet paper I got no damn luck today.
Looks like I’ve got a mouse problem
Cause coyotes ate my cat I got no damn luck today.
My doggie used floor again
And my bare foot found the prize I got no damn luck today.
Then they had to tow my car off
Cause the sucker wouldn’t start I got no damn luck today.
And they say they’ll fix it Monday
Which sounds good except it’s Tuesday I got no damn luck today.
(Bridge)
I guess it all could be worse
I could find myself in jail
With a cellmate who thinks I have pretty lips
Or some pirates could have stormed my home
Or lightning could have struck me
These are things I know that happen every day
It seems the feds would like to
Have a word or two with me I got no damn luck today.
They want their cut of something
That has nil to do with me I got no damn luck today.
But I kindly will oblige them
And I’ll give them a big smile I got no damn luck today.
Cause my bank account is empty
And I can’t afford the trial I got no damn luck today.
(Bridge)
So it’s time to roll the sleeves up
Take fate right into the hand I got no damn luck today.
While your luck is what you make it
Sometimes your hide still gets tanned I got no damn luck today.
The neighbors yell, the roof leaks through
The front door lock won’t work I got no damn luck today.
And your wife will let you have it
Hey, at least she’s got a job I got no damn luck today.
